01
Choose a day with room to settle in
Work back from the time you need your new home ready. Key release, travel, unloading and unpacking all need space in the plan. If you are preparing for Shabbos, choose a moving date that leaves a comfortable margin for your own household arrangements rather than relying on a last minute finish. Tell us your preferred day and any firm deadline; availability must be confirmed.
02
Agree who is responsible at each home
Decide who will meet the crew, hold the keys and answer questions about furniture placement. Where children or relatives need separate arrangements, organise those with your household before the van arrives. Share one contact number that will be reachable throughout the move, and explain any periods when access will be unavailable.
03
Create a room plan before packing
Give each destination room a simple name and use it consistently on boxes. Make a separate list of furniture that is staying, travelling or going to another address. Note beds that need taking apart and pieces too large for an ordinary doorway. This gives the crew a useful picture of the work without requiring private details about your family.
04
Keep the first evening’s belongings accessible
Put bedding, a change of clothes, medicines and the items your children need in clearly marked bags. Set aside the kitchen essentials your household wants first. Carry valuables and important documents yourself. Ask for essential furniture to be identified before loading; discuss the unloading order rather than assuming every item can be reached immediately.
05
Prepare access without disrupting neighbours
Find out how the van can reach each entrance and where loading is permitted. Check whether a communal door requires someone to hold it open, and whether a lift needs reserving. Arrange a clear route for furniture while allowing neighbours to pass. Give us these details before confirmation so carrying distances and floors can be allowed for.
06
Leave time for your own Shabbos preparations
Keep anything you will need for your own preparations separate from sealed moving boxes. Follow your household’s practice and ask your own rav about religious questions. Our online moving requests pause from Friday noon until Sunday begins, London time; this business window is deliberately broad and is not a calendar of halachic times. Send changes ahead of that pause.
07
Check the plan before handing over the keys
Compare the actual load with the list you submitted and tell us about additions. Confirm that someone can receive it at the new home. Once the rooms are empty, check cupboards and storage together with the person responsible for the property. Keep your request reference available if you need to contact us about the agreed arrangements.
Parking at your Stamford Hill address
Include the exact house or flat number, full postcode and entrance details. Use Hackney Council’s parking information to check the zone and operating hours for a Hackney address. Check the council responsible for the other address separately, and include any loading restrictions in your request.
