Check the unit before collection day
An old inventory may no longer reflect what is in storage. Visit if you can and mark the pieces leaving. Tell us about furniture behind stacked boxes or anything that needs moving aside to reach the load. A photograph can help explain the arrangement by email, but a written list is still needed to plan the van space.
Make access a firm arrangement
Ask the provider what identification or permission the collecting team needs. Arrange for the account holder or an authorised person to open the unit. Give us the agreed access window and loading instructions. Do not assume reception staff will release your belongings to someone who is not named on your agreement.
Receive the load into prepared rooms
Measure the route into the home before the furniture comes out of storage. Clear a destination for beds and larger pieces, and label boxes by room. If some belongings are going to a relative instead, include that additional address before the journey is agreed. We can then review the stops and carrying work together.
Closing a unit is your separate instruction
If this is the final collection, check the provider’s notice and move-out procedure yourself. Inspect the emptied unit and deal directly with the provider about ending rent or returning access equipment. Our collection does not cancel a storage contract. Keep the storage account details out of your public moving notes.
